The standard
VVS clarity. Nothing lower.
Earth-mined diamonds are sold across every clarity grade, and most of what ends up in grillz sits well down that scale. We only set VVS, then hand-match every stone for color and cut so the face of the set reads clean and even instead of patchy.

The metal
Natural diamonds belong on 14K and 18K gold
We do not set natural diamonds on 10K. Here is why.
Less chance of tarnishing
Pure gold does not tarnish. The other metals mixed into it do. 14K and 18K carry more gold and less alloy than 10K, so your set keeps its color longer.
Holds more value
More gold in the piece means more value in the piece, the day you buy it and years later. A natural diamond set is built to keep its worth, and the metal should be too.
The metal should match the stones
Natural VVS diamonds are the top of the line. They deserve gold that is on their level.

Appraisal by a GIA Graduate Gemologist
Every order comes with a written appraisal from a gemologist who graduated from GIA, documenting your piece and the diamonds in it.
GIA diamond grading reports
GIA grades loose natural diamonds of 0.15 carats and up. That is a 15 pointer. Build your set with stones that size or larger and each diamond can be sent to GIA and graded before we set it, so your grill comes with GIA reports for its stones.
IGI jewelry report
IGI examines finished jewelry. An IGI jewelry report covers your completed grill as one piece: it identifies the diamonds as natural and lists their color and clarity range, the metal, and photos of the piece.
Adding rubies, sapphires or emeralds? AGL (American Gemological Laboratories), the colored-gemstone lab, is now part of IGI. We can provide AGL reports for the colored stones in your set.

Can grillz be GIA certified?
The diamonds in them can. GIA’s diamond grading reports are for loose natural diamonds of 0.15 carats and up, so a set built with 15 pointers or larger can have each stone graded by GIA before it is set. Smaller stones fall under that size. For those sets, an IGI jewelry report on the finished piece is the way to get lab documentation.
GIA, IGI, AGL, appraisal: what is the difference?
A GIA grading report grades one loose diamond: carat weight, color, clarity and cut. An IGI jewelry report looks at the finished piece and states whether its diamonds are natural, with color and clarity given as a range because the stones are already set. AGL, now part of IGI, is the lab for colored gemstones such as ruby, sapphire and emerald. An appraisal is a gemologist’s written description and valuation of your piece. Every order here includes the appraisal; the lab reports are available on request.
How do I know I am getting natural and not lab diamonds?
We sell both, in separate collections, and your order says which one you bought. Natural sets come with the gemologist’s appraisal, and you can add a GIA or IGI report so an independent lab confirms it too.
Why are some “VVS” grillz so much cheaper?
Usually because the stones are not VVS, not natural, or both. VS and SI diamonds cost less, and in small sizes nobody can see the difference without magnification. Ask any seller to put the clarity, the color and the word natural in writing, and to back it with an appraisal or a lab report. We do.

Before you order
Are these real, earth-mined diamonds?
Yes. Everything in this collection is set with 100% natural, earth-mined diamonds. Our lab diamond and moissanite sets are sold in their own collections and are always labeled as such.
What does VVS clarity mean?
VVS stands for very, very slightly included: any inclusions are too small to see without magnification. It sits near the top of the clarity scale, and it is the only grade we set.
Natural or lab diamond: what is the difference?
Both are real diamond. A natural diamond formed in the earth and was mined; a lab diamond was grown. They look the same in a set. Natural costs more because it is rarer. We make both and tell you exactly which one you are buying.
Why can’t I get natural diamonds on 10K gold?
Because the gold should be on the same level as the stones. 14K and 18K carry more gold than 10K, so they are less likely to tarnish and they hold more value. That is why natural diamond is only offered on 14K and 18K. See the full breakdown.
How can you guarantee the fit by mail?
Because a jeweler is on a live video call with you while you take your mold. If the impression isn’t right, we catch it on the call and you redo it on the spot. If the finished set needs adjusting, refits are free.
